How to Dress like Kate Middleton

Posted on October 20 2014

Celeb style envy. We've got it bad for Kate Middleton.

It’s no surprise she is one of our favorites. She’s always so polished and elegant. Though sometimes she’s a bit too refined and mature for our taste, she almost never disappoints when she’s going sporty and casual. We came across a look of hers on Pinterest the other day that we can't stop thinking about. She was wearing dark jeans, a light top, a field jacket and riding boots.

It is such a casual luxe look. It’s perfect for a fall football game or a weekend brunch with friends. Though Kate is tall and very slim, this look translates for us curvier girls too. Dark denim is great for fuller thighs. We recommend a solid dark denim; stay away from whiskered or faded denim as they can make your bottom half seem larger. We adore Kate’s jacket, but for fuller figures choosing a longer, hip-length jacket will emphasize the waist and create a longer silhouette. We struggle with boots every year and boots this style are especially hard to fit for wider calves. We’ve found two pairs that are made for wider calves and are 1-2 inches wider in the calves than regular sizes. (We also recommend the brand Rose Petals for extended calf boots, they have an additional 1.5 inches in circumference.) Don't forget gold accessories. They put the "luxe" in casual luxe! What do you all think of this look?
