The Wide Calf Boot Shopping Guide

Posted on November 12 2014

It's time to put your cute summer wedges and those gladiator sandals ALL the way to the back of your closet. The cold weather is approaching and boot season is here. As we know, just like every other year, finding wide calf boots can be incredibly frustrating, but thankfully there are a growing number of options.

When shopping for boots, it is very important to know your foot width and your calf circumference. Knowing these two key pieces of information will make things a lot easier when shopping for boots and shoes. If you have a wide foot you will need to buy a wide width shoe. Knowing your calf measurement and comparing it to the product detail given for a boot, will let you know if a wide calf boot will truly fit, making the overall boot shopping experience a whole lot easier.

To make things less frustrating there are websites (such as Zappos) that are now offering a calf circumference search option to help narrow down your selection. Many offer free shipping and returns to sweeten the deal.

We've gathered some of our favorite boots that are available in wide calf or wide widths:

This versatile boot is great paired with jeans and a cute blouse, or can be dressed down with a pair of leggings and a comfy sweater. Riding boots are the most popular style of boot and there are many options available in wide width, and wide calf. Many of these boots have some sort of unique buckle, zipper, or metal embellishments to give it a little extra flare.
